I've heard this same scripture reference several times lately. It reminds me that in this political season with so much at stake, God is watching. He knows what is going on and His Will will be done in this election. As many others, I believe that regardless of who is elected as the next President of the United States, there will be very significant things that happen to fulfill Bible prophecy either way. Christians will either go to the polls in mass numbers and force this country to be steered in the direction of the Christian values of our forefathers........or we as a country will start to see our freedoms taken away from us in drastic ways.
I can remember knowing, even as a child, that I could always speak my mind in this great country we live in without fear of persecution for my beliefs. But those days are steadily coming to an end as our government grows and projects its will on us.
As Christians, we are already discriminated against and accused of being intolerant of other faiths in regards to free speech. We are told to keep our "speech" quiet. And because we have allowed the world's bullying to keep us quiet for far too long, it might possibly be too late to turn things around. It truly will take an act of God to help us attempt to right some of the wrongs we have done in our sin against God and to cause a spiritual revival to take place in America.
Something woke me in the middle of the night and I heard a quote by Ruth Graham on Christian radio. She said, "If God doesn't soon bring judgment upon America, He'll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!"
That is a very sobering thought.....so much truth to what we have become.
As of today, there are 40 days until the election. I have committed to pray each day for our country and the upcoming Presidential election. Will you join me and pray for our country as well?
